Cooking for your partner is so intimate. It’s bonding… just like when you breastfeed your baby — you’re bonding, providing nourishment and nurture. That’s why I always cook for my husband. And if we go out to eat, I order for him, place the napkin in his lap, and watch him take his first bite to make sure the food is satisfying. And if we’re at cookouts, I fix his plate.
Now, y’all can argue and say, “Well, that’s your husband.” Yes — but even before my husband, I was like this. I just never gave a man no babies until he gave me a commitment. But I always kept a plate coming. The women in my family modeled this, and I’m passing it down to my daughter. No matter how successful she becomes, I’ll always teach her: cook, and fix your partner a plate.
And while you’re at it — talk to your man while y’all are eating. That’ll solidify your bond even more.
Not one man of any financial class will argue with this statement. That’s why I’ve always attracted men who took care of family and not hoes!
