Hello Winos: 

My name is Tawana Chealey. I'm the mother of a 13 year old autistic son who was assaulted on January 9, 2026 by a Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools employee on a school bus in Charlotte, NC. He is non-verbal and couldn't tell us what happened. He was dropped off with visible injuries and no justification to us, his parents. 

I'm sharing our story publicly to raise awareness, sound off where ever I can to try to hold all those involved accountable and protect other families who go through this, most importantly the children.
