Lolo yes!!! I teach Global History and I have also taught US History. I notice that keep all of this out of the curriculum, which is why I have taken it upon myself to study and research the TRUTH. Many of us have ancestors who are indigenous to this country. If you read the writings of the Portuguese explorers and Spanish conquistadors, they speak of how the indigenous peoples were of a darker complexion. Also, 92% of the slaves in the US were born right here on American soil. The transatlantic slave trade played a very, very small part in the American slave trade. Most of the slaves from Africa were transported to Brazil, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Lolo this reply that you posted is exactly why I refuse to refer to myself as being “African American”. My genealogy shows that I have ancestors who are indigenous to this country, the United States of America 🇺🇸

There are no slave ships from Africa or anywhere else recorded in my genealogy, on either side of my family. The term “African-American” is a term that anyone can glom onto so that they can benefit from tangibles that should be set aside for FBA’s. In a previous post, I mentioned that Elon Musk and Charlize Theron consider themselves to be African-American and they are Caucasian.

GD Wow! It’s funny because my ex’s mother, who I mentioned in my original post, was actually fond of me. She felt that she could trash talk Black Americans to me, because in her eyes I didn’t carry myself like most Black Americans. No matter what she thought, it was still very offensive. Foundational Black Americans have put in 350 billion dollars of FREE labor to build this country. That is far from being lazy. I’m not going to allow any immigrants to trash talk me or my lineage. It stops here 💯

lissa0 this is response to your reply to Old Skool Patricia. Is it not divisive when Latinos, Africans and Caribbeans say, “I’m not Black, I’m Haitian/Jamaican/Dominican”? Is it not divisive when African parents tell their children, “Stay away from the Akatas!” And Caribbean parents telling their children, “Stay away from those Yanks!”? Is it not divisive when melanated immigrants denigrate and disrespect Black Americans? Melanated immigrants have given the message that Black Americans are inferior, lazy and worthless. They also made it clear that they want to separate from us. Well, FBA’s have heard the messages loud and clear. I will not tie myself to anyone that disrespects me or my lineage. We may have African genetics, like everyone else in the whole world, but our lineage is different from genetics.
