Warrant Issued After Toddler Suffers Severe Burns in Babysitter’s Care
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 5:02 p.m., Akron police officers responded to a call in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Blvd for an unknown emergency. Upon arrival, they were met by the mother of a 1-year-old girl.
The mother reported that she had left her daughter in the care of a woman at the residence while she was out of town. When she returned to pick up her child, she found that the toddler had sustained severe burns, reportedly from scalding bath or shower water.
Investigators determined that the caregiver failed to seek medical treatment or report the incident. The child was later transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including second- and third-degree burns.
Following the investigation, a warrant has been issued for 52-year-old Kimberly Richmond. She is charged with two counts of Child Endangering. Why no can you please send a prayer for my great niece?
