That's a good question. My mother was molested by her brother my uncle. My mother never left me with any males in my family and i was never molested because my mom was super over protective. Fast forward as an adult I was FB friends with the pedo nasty uncle. I posted a pic of me in a lace spaghetti string top. Pedo uncle comes on my pic and says "Beautiful child" I immediately felt uncomfortable and blocked him. I told my mom NEVER EVER bring my child around him. I do not have contact with that uncle my mom still does. I honestly think because he did it to my mom and I look like my mom if given the opportunity he would run it thru the blood line. Disgusting I also have another uncle who my grandma claimed he molested boys. At some point somebody in my family started that mess. I'm the chain breaker.

At the same time it can be hard to constantly protect your kids especially from family members. It's easier to do with outsiders your family is different.
