The woman being showcased in those clips is an unfortunate and embarrassing case. Thank goodness, she represents a very tiny percentage of women seeking to end unplanned pregnancies.

On the other hand, there remains a significant enough number of would-be mothers who legitimately require late term abortions in order to save their lives when all other prenatal interventions fail.

For that reason—and for that reason alone—I don’t believe governments should be invading women’s privacy and forcing women to choose fetuses over themselves. We should be advocating for better sex education and healthcare access so that people can make life affirming decisions about their own personal reproductive outcomes.
