May she rest in power knowing that her legacy lives on. We celebrate her life with your family and offer peace, light and condolences to those left behind…Until you rejoin your ancestors.

I’m at the 2 hour mark and still waiting on them to go over the paperwork. #ReplayGang

I’m from DMV originally and I used to love watching Video Music Box. Sometimes I go on YouTube to watch the old Black music shows from back in the day.

Congrats Lil Sis! You getting your moderator on and you deserve it! I love watching Tasha and Nylah so I know you’re adding your Black Girl Magic to both channels!

#ReplayGang I loved this interview and his spirit just made me smile! Great interview. Miss my Wino Gang Gang #OG

I used to be able to do the same when I used to drink. Jack Daniel straight was smooth going down and never made me throw up.

I wonder if Martin Luther King Jr or Malcolm X felt exhausted as well. MLK was the softer side of Malcolm. The only way they diverged was non-violence or fighting for the same goal. I understand what you mean though. However, sometimes people need a foot in their butt to get them started. I believe both ways are necessary in certain situations to bring about change. I equate it to your parents sitting down and having a conversation with you vs the times they have to pop you on your bottom for you to learn the lesson.

Hiya Winos! I can understand why some of you don’t like Amanda but if you turn the word anger to passion, you’ll get her better. I was angry in my late 30’s about how darker black women got the menial jobs, but the lighter black women worked in the offices and were able to elevate. I would get mentally stuck in a loop, work twice as hard, and learned to speak proper and be indispensable to my bosses of other races. However, I would still be full of rage. It took me looking inside myself and getting therapy to realize what my purpose was. I started doing poetry tours and then volunteering to teach our children how to write what they were feeling instead of lashing out and fighting. I don’t think Amanda is angry so much as fed up with the injustices in the world. It took me traveling here and abroad, and reading every book about the oppressed people everywhere to see the patterns/playbooks that are being used all over the world. Writing became my way of escaping the loop I was stuck in. Before I ever got to middle school I already had college credits because I spent my summers taking university courses. Once I figured out my triggers, I became a Pollyanna…a person who knew how to stand without being harsh. Amanda is just blunt in her truth. I see confidence when I hear her speak, not arrogance, because once you know the truth of a thing, nothing and no one can move you. My suggestion is to pick up all the old school books you can find at library book sales and African American and Indigenous shops because they are disappearing from our schools and national book stores. There’s also a Bible that lists all the black people and their contributions that they stopped allowing to be sold in the late 70’s. Once I get out of physical rehab, I’ll post the name and picture to see if you can find it. They’re erasing our intelligence, culture, and contributions. If you don’t believe me, go look up slavery on PBS where they’re equating us to indentured servants who were purposefully lazy to make the landowners who “bought” us lose money. #OG
