I am writing to help clarify the concept of FBA (Foundational Black American). FBA is a lineage, rather than an organization, group, or ideology.

The term was created to delineate Foundational Black Americans from other Black immigrant groups who come to the United States. In many instances, these immigrant groups undermine the social and political objectives of FBAs. Although Black Americans historically fought for the rights of melanated immigrants to come to this country, a significant percentage of these groups treat us with disrespect and actively seek to differentiate themselves from us once they arrive. The FBA designation simply agrees with that distinction; just as other groups specify their unique heritage when achieving success, Black Americans are now doing the same. Additionally, some of us are native to this land ..some have aboriginal lineage both groups were later reclassified as African.

To be clear, FBAs do not have an issue with other Black immigrant groups. However, we will no longer accept disrespect or the undermining of our social and political movements. While there is no requirement for mutual liking, there must be respect for the foundational work our ancestors put forth in this country... I apologize for the ignorant ass statements.someone made about your family their statements have nothing to do with their status of being Fba lineage... ignorant assholes come in every race ,gender and country.

P.S your kids have your blood line so they have FBA lineage.. whoever made those statements to you was wrong..and ignorant!! Also your husband ain't an issue either if they all acted like cheick this delineation movement would be necessary.. you aren't a problem and neither are your husband or children just to be clear.. hope this helps with luv wino out!
