Buffy I agree she’s definitely made several poor decisions. She’s too old to be lit and crash out like that. Those decisions are a symptom of something bigger. When she said in one breath that the father provides but in another breath their relationship is a whole separate thing that she didn’t want to talk about I knew that dynamic was toxic. To do all of that shit for $150 or for free is absolutely crazy. She’s trying to escape what’s going on in that house that she’s trying to get away from. She needs therapy to understand why her mind is telling her that she’s making good choices. She’s written checks that her ass can’t cash. If her youngest is 5 that means the others are school age. She also said she has a nanny. So why not use the nanny to watch the kids so you can get honest work. While I believe she told the truth about the event I don’t believe she’s telling the truth about her home life because the math ain’t mathing. Tasha definitely asked the right questions. I just don’t think she gave the right advice. I’ve never lived in Florida but what I do know is that a lot of those DV shelters don’t provide what people think they provide. The truth is the individuals have to want more for themselves and have a plan. That plan has to motivate them to push beyond someone else’s help. They need to be self sufficient. She’s not here yet. It’s obvious from her thought process.

You have never been a single parent. You’ve been married for 20 years. It’s not easy at all. I’ve never judged anything you’ve said or done until this interview. If you’re not going to offer her help personally don’t give that advice. I have personally been in that situation. Those places are severely underfunded. They don’t really provide the services that you think they do. I’m not privied to your offline conversation with her but bet the information that you’re giving her. Actually see where and what services are actually being offered in her area. Don’t just give general advice on what you think. Really be in the know.
