My name is Monique Powell, and my heart is broken for my community of Dumfries, located between St. James and Trelawny, Jamaica. This is the home of my grandparents, the late Austin & Kathleen Bernard, and it's where my family and many others are currently struggling to recover from the recent disaster.
The Situation on the Ground:
Many families are without electricity and cell service. Sections of homes, including my grandparents' house, have been destroyed. Shelters have sustained damage, and entire communities are without access to food and everyday essentials. I am taking personal action to ensure my community gets the help it desperately needs to rebuild. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward providing vital relief.
