As an African, I'll say I see and appreciate your point. I will say, though, the reparations ADOS is advocating for are specifically about reparations from the United States to Black Americans. As Africans, our reparations should come from the UK. England, France, Portugal and the all other European powers that colonized Africa and exploited its resources and labor.Black Americans absolutely deserve reparations from the United States, and I don’t like that yall still get grouped together and broadly labeled as “minorities.”with other POC. Yall helped build the country and should not always have to share any special privileges with other POC. A good amount of the rights we as immigrants benefit from, comes from Black Americans fighting for it with their lives,they had no choice. That’s one reason I have no issue with ADOS in principle.
However, I absolutely dislike FBA because of the way its supporters talk about Africans. They say incredibly ignorant, nasty, and disrespectful things about us. I’ve also seen colorism directed toward dark-skinned Black Americans , including claims that Black Americans aren’t as dark as Africans, so they call them booty scratchers and tethers too. That kind of rhetoric lets me know exactly what kind of group they are,And I have no respect for any of them. They are all losers like their leader Tariq.
