I just want to say thank you Tasha for using your platform to bring awareness to what’s going on in Gary, Indiana. I am a native of Gary and all of my family lives there. Its so much i could say historically how Gary citizens are treated, and nobody reported how the entire city came together like we always do to help each other. I sent 3 family members money for groceries including my grandmother because all their food went bad. I hope ppl understand how as a black city, we ban together despite the negative feedback ppl from Gary receives. Growing up Gary taught us black excellence, our schools were named after prominent black figures like Allen Locke & Sister Thea Bowman (iykyk), So many black businesses over the years thrived on the black dollar. Its more to Gary than Michael Jackson. I will always be proud of Gary and to be from Gary.
